The alarm clock screams an annoying buzz. You hit snooze but that’s only a temporary fix, you wake up and start your day off wishing you can go back to bed. It’s just another mantic Monday.
You’re fighting the mundane of the same job, same drive and doing the same thing day after day – and you’re tired of this same madness! If I’m anywhere in the neighborhood of how you are feeling it may be time to make some changes before you go insane! It may be time to hire you.
Am I advocating that you walk in the office tomorrow and tell your boss to take this job and…well, you know? Not exactly, but I am suggesting that you first thank God for what you currently have and then start preparing for that ultimate move towards your dreams!
If you want to hire you and eventually fire your boss, you may want to consider these easy transitional opportunities:
1. BECOME A COACH. Do people naturally turn to you for direction, advice, or to help them solve a problem? Do they seek your advice and wisdom in finances, healthy eating or exercise? If so, you may want to consider being a coach in your area of expertise. The coaching business opens up a realm of possibilities. They provide good, solid advice to individuals relating to a particular area in their life.
A coach can specialize in many different areas. For example, some coaches only deal with business professionals, stay at home moms, or single parents while others help those wanting to make more money or lose weight.
The options are absolutely endless and your experience and ability to help others see what they can not can produce real results. You can go for training and become a certified coach at your local college, reputable organization or online courses.
2. JOIN AN MULTI LEVEL MARKETING COMPANY. Okay, a little transparency here, I use to really despise these types of businesses. Not because of the products or services but because of the people! Constantly being asked to attend meetings or buy a product started wearing on my nerves but my perspective changed once I really understood the tremendous financial benefits.
These businesses tend to be a plenty and are gaining more momentum, but I will caution that they do have their pros and cons. Like everything out here, there are some good companies/products but there’s a lot of garbage floating around as well. If you think that perhaps an MLM company is the business for you, be sure to do your research.
Make sure the company you decide to partner with has a good track record. You can confirm this by speaking with other representatives of the company and checking the Better Business Bureau and similar websites for more information.
3. FREELANCE YOUR EXPERTISE. This option is easier than most people think. If you have a gift with writing, editing, marketing, consulting, transcription, medical coding, web and graphic designing, voiceover work and programming, then you have skills that can be freelanced to others.
Here’s the cool part, your future clients are looking for you right now but you must put yourself in position to be seen. I suggest starting with some of the most popular bidding sites for freelancers like Odesk.com, Elance.com, Guru.com, Rentacoder.com and of course, Fiverr.
These are just a few ways to start the transition of one day owning your own business. Decide what you enjoy doing and get started on eliminating your Monday blues. Beginning your own business is not easy, but with a dash of hope, patience, and hard work, your dreams can be realized in just a short time and you can stop hitting the snooze button once and for all!
